The Focuswrite seems to have better driver support, mixing via DSP. Which is why the FCA1616 makes more sense. I just dont see it unless i plug in cables front and back etc. is that possible and wanted?) and im not sure i would get enough inputs for my 3 keyboards even though they say they have up to 8 inputs (some of which are ouput to inputs. The Behringer FCA's are newer and very flexible and I would need to change my cabling for the Focuswrite (from 1/4" to microphone plugs. The Focuswrite look and gets better reviews while everyone hates Behringer for being cheap. Im looking at 2 different brands, mainly Behringer and the FCA610 or the FCA1616 (preferred), and the Focuswrite Safire Pro 24 (better features). The Avid came with extras i'll never use also, so the extras are of little value. So there's simple but effective and powerful but troublesome. The I/O mixer in the Avid is a nice feature - the Behringer doesn't channel inputs unless you have the ports opened. I also want 2-3 1/4" inputs for my keyboards so i dont have to piggy them back. I want Firewire because of the noise level on my usb ports and usb is not as fast. Im looking at at 2-3 different interfaces for less than 300EUs. Each has different volume levels so the piggy back audio is not perfect + interferences. I play a Korg SV1, Kaossilator Pro and a Mininova and some acoustic percussions (with a phantom powered mic). I want a new interface for my PC and have independent inputs for each instrument. Both are nice but obsolete and too short on inputs. The Avid is nicer, has more inputs (but still limited to 1 1/4" jack stereo connection and also has a serious feedback hiss problem i cannot get rid of. The Behringer is just too basic but works well. I have a Behringer FA202 and an Avid Mbox mini. Im playing mostly blues, house, jazz, electro and synth pieces. Im more a sound engineer but can't say i really have the ears. Im not a real musician but i know my theory.
